Objective & Overview
A custom-designed, print-in-place folding stand engineered specifically for compact digital multimeters. Custom tailored for the Ziboo 101 and directly cross-compatible with the Fluke 101, this design gives pocket meters a rock-solid, angled bench presence without requiring extra hardware or assembly.
The stand utilizes an all-in-one mechanical linkage that prints as a single part and immediately folds flat for effortless storage in a tool pouch or pocket. Fabricated on an UltiMaker MakerBot Sketch Sprint using durable PLA, the integrated hinges achieve smooth articulation straight off the print bed.

Build Log & Engineering Notes
Ziboo 101 & Fluke 101 Measurement
The Ziboo 101 and Fluke 101 are benchmark compact multimeters, but their lack of an integrated kickstand makes bench probing awkward.
Modeled the lower cradle and backrest to match the rear casing profile with digital calipers, ensuring the unit sits firmly at an optimal bench viewing angle without obstructing probe jacks or dial controls.
Print-in-Place Flat-Fold Mechanism
Designed the pivot mechanism to eliminate all external fasteners, pins, or snap-fit assemblies. The hinges feature captive interlocking geometry designed to articulate cleanly off the build plate.
The linkage folds completely flush to maintain a slim, pocketable profile that can drop straight into a tool roll alongside the meter.
MakerBot Sketch Sprint Printing
Printed on the UltiMaker MakerBot Sketch Sprint utilizing genuine UltiMaker PLA. Print-in-place tolerances require precise thermal management to prevent hinge fusion.
The Sketch Sprint held the required radial gap clearances across the pivot joints cleanly. First articulation broke free smoothly with light hand pressure, with zero layer delamination or joint slop.
Stability & Ergonomics
- Cross-tested fitment verifies seamless compatibility with both the Ziboo 101 and the Fluke 101 chassis.
- Future revision: Consider adding micro silicone non-slip pads or TPU co-molded feet on the base contact points for extra grip on slick ESD mats.
